CHRISTMAS DAY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
AT NORTH SHORE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Since 1972, Brotherhood has organized a group of volunteers to help lend a hand and to make the Christmas Day at North Shore University Hospital more joyful for staff and patients. This much appreciated program is called the Samuel Baker Memorial Christmas Day program in honor of the late former Brotherhood President Samuel Baker who instituted the program and ran it for many years.
The group of volunteers typically ranges in age from teens to seniors, including Brotherhood members, other Temple Beth-El members, and friends from the community.
The day's activities are organized by Brotherhood member Jon Yedvab in consultation with the hospital's Volunteer Office.
In recent years, the volunteers have been divided into groups that sing holiday songs in the lobby and in the hallways of hospital floors where patients are located.
Here are the details and sign-up information for Christmas 2017.
