No matter what the weather, even through sleet, slush and snow, Familyhood and the Social Action Council hold their annual Tzedakah Project - Holiday Food Drive. Held during the Thanksgiving – New Year holiday season on one designated Sunday, temple families come together to pack up and deliver over 3200 pounds of turkey along with the trimmings to families in need in the Great Neck area. The food is delivered to families associated with the Mount Olive Baptist Church, the Hispanic Community of Great Neck, the First Baptist Church, the St. Aloysius Interfaith Food Pantry and two local senior citizens homes. This project, which has been ongoing for over 15 years and made possible by generous donations from temple and non-temple members, is organized by Jordana Levine and Robin Witt.
