COMMUNITY AT A GLANCE
This page summarizes our Temple Beth-El community.

Brotherhood | Attend monthly meetings, participate in special just-for-men Brotherhood events, help out at select temple and community-service events, and enjoy the camaraderie of others.
Chesed (Caring) Team | Our Chesed Team helps people in various times of need. When our congregants are chronically or acutely ill, recovering from an operation, experiencing a period of bereavement or simply going through a tough time, our Chesed Team provides support—and partners with our clergy to make sure members get the care they need.
Club Chai | Have you been a member of the congregation for more than 18 years? Come join other long-time temple members for fun activities and programs.
Familyhood | Join other young families with children from birth through high-school age in programs that will foster a social, religious, and spiritual connection to the larger Temple Beth-El community.
Gay and Lesbian Inclusion (GLIC) | Feel at home with programs designed for the gay and lesbian community—LGBTQ, their families and friends, and non-temple members are welcome.
Great-Full | Many local public school students receive hot meals or subsidized lunches during the school year. Our Great-Full participants meet before Great Neck school breaks to shop for food and pack the items that will be donated to local families who are food insecure.
Healing Resources | Learn all the ways that Temple Beth-El is here to help you in troubled times.
Medical Equipment Lending Program |
Temple Beth-El of Great Neck loans nonelectric medical equipment to individuals who cannot afford to buy their own or whose insurance does not cover the cost. |
|
Oneg Mensch Committee |
If you love baking, join this lovely group whose members contribute treats to our weekly Friday night oneg and special occasions. This is a great opportunity for those who’d like to prepare baked goods on a regular or semi-regular basis.
Our Youth | Know that our youth is our future; learn about the programs oriented specifically to them.
Sisterhood | Be Empowered. Be Enriched. Be Engaged. Join the women of Temple Beth-El to participate in fascinating programs, social activities and social action projects.
TriBE | Small groups comprised of about 10 participants each meet monthly at a member’s home. TriBE groups form around specific interests or common life stages.
Tzedek (Social Action) Team | Many opportunities are available under the Tzedek umbrella. Whether you’d like to advocate for a cause or find ways to help the local community, join this group of like-minded social-justice activists.
Volunteers | If you have some free time, the temple is always looking for volunteers to help with activities and projects, including office work, event planning and holidays. |
