Temple Beth-El’s Mitzvah of the Month program provides our congregants with numerous, year-round opportunities to engage in acts of tikkun olam, repair of the world.

Under the auspices of Temple Beth-El, our congregants have engaged in acts of tikkun olam, repair of the world, all year-round.  In accordance with a longstanding Beth-El tradition, we also gathered on one special day each year, “Mitzvah Day,” to engage in numerous projects inside and outside our temple, including the collection and distribution of food, clothing, and personal items for the disadvantaged; entertaining and serving lunch to residents of local senior residences; walk-a-thons for charitable causes; advocacy for social justice issues; a blood drive; entertaining at a Veterans’ Hospital; and much, much more.

Our Mitzvah of the Month program recognizes that our tikkun olam efforts have never been limited to just one day, and it provides new opportunities for congregants of all ages to engage in social justice activities.
