It is customary to make a donation to tzedakah (charity) out of respect and remembrance for a loved one, to express sympathy to someone, or to honor a significant milestone in a person’s life. Donations benefit Temple Beth-El in a variety of ways.

A House of Learning
• Adrienne & William Kafenbaum Educational Enrichment Fund

             subsidizes our Adult Education and Religious School programs
• Barbara & Maurice A. Deane Youth Scholarship Fund
             subsidizes students attendance at temple programs and camps
• Brotherhood Bible Breakfast Fund
             defrays the costs associated with the Sunday morning programs with speakers and lecturers
• Family Education Fund
             enhances the programming of our Family Education Program
• Hattie & Albert Grauer Library Fund
             purchases books and magazines for our library
• Jane & H. Richard Roberts Religious School Scholarship Fund
            provides scholarships and support to our Religious School programs
• Jeannette L. & Lewis S. Hollins Early Childhood Education Fund
            engenders understanding, love of and devotion to our Jewish faith at an early age
• Starr Lecture Fund
            subsidizes the Starr Lecture


Caring for Each Other
• Brotherhood Community & Interfaith Activities Fund

             supports Brotherhood interfaith and community activities
• Sisterhood Emergency Relief Fund
             provides temporary financial assistance to those members of our immediate community in dire need
• Outreach Fund
             reaches out to interfaith couples and their families
• Walter & Charlotte Schneider Caring Community Fund
             supports the work of the temple’s Caring Community
• Times of Need
            funds volunteer efforts to support families who have lost a loved one or are in crisis


A House of Gathering
• Synagogue and Grounds Fund
            subsidizes the cost of cleaning, repairing and maintaining our temple’s interior and exterior
• Herman & Rose Manney Zarin Family Youth Activities Fund
            assists our youth in their projects and programs
• Sisterhood Rose Wolf Floral Fund
            beautifies the bema with fresh flowers


A House of Worship
• Prayer Book Fund ($36 per personal inscription)
             purchases our prayer books: Mishkan T’filah and Gates of Repentance
• Torah Book Fund ($50 per personal inscription)
             purchases Torah commentaries for Sabbath Services


Repairing the World
• Sisterhood Helen Zaner Services for the Blind
             provides talking books for the sightless
• Jenny Spielman Social Action Fund
             supports “Tikkun Olam” – repairing the world – focusing on the political
and social needs of our community

• Mitzvah of the Month Fund
             helps support Mitzvah of the Month projects
• Sheldon Meisenberg Service Award Fund
             acknowledges service by High School students and supports our Confirmation program


Music and Cultural Funds
• Elsie K. Rudin Judaica Museum Fund
             supports museum programming, exhibitions, conservation and education
• Robert S. Boas Music Fund
             spiritually enhances our musical presentations


Investment Fund
             established to assure the future of temple programs and services
and the long-term financial stability of the temple
